Lunatic Loop bring sophisticated art rock with feminine power to the stage. In their songs, the four musicians from Basel and Freiburg talk about madness & subtlety, nonsense & frivolity and other observations of life in abundance.
The audience is drawn into an atmospheric vortex that blurs boundaries and shatters the chains of everyday life. Anything is possible.
The electronic sounds come from the keys/synths of Jakob Rockzinzik and the electric guitar of Lukas Gebhard. On the drums, Lukas Gilson carries the sound with his use of finesse & hardness. The wide-ranging vocals of Lisa-Marie Gunst finally immerse themselves in the orchestra of the three guys and merge into a utopian sound between psychedelic reverie and rebellious rock music.
L’art pour l’art. Lunatic Loop also makes art for art’s sake – but not only. In times of fog, the compass fades. In times of darkness, the spark for the light is missing. What remains of art when hatred extinguishes love and nuclear devastation obliterates all being? For love, for friendship, for peace, and for the discovery of the beauty of this world. For this we stand, compose, and perform.
At least for us, music is not purely an end in itself, but part of a social whole that presents itself as more than just the sum of its parts. You and we – friends of music and artists. We and you – people and people, you for us and we for you!
We know all too well that in these foggy times it’s not always easy to view the present and future from optimistic and sensual perspectives.
